Statement
“Let the waves surge,
the human ship is still moving forward.
There is fog in front. Ah, beware of the reef!
Night is coming, in the darkness,
do you see the Lighthouse?”
─Shu Hong-sing
Long long time ago, it was the ocean that led to the discovery of Hong Kong;
beneath the undulating mountains, skyscrapers rise like new peaks.
The night sky of Victoria Harbour twinkles like a constellation of stars,
with neon lights standing as lighthouses,
illuminating the distant, tumultuous sea.
Regardless of how the thick fog swirls, or how the heavy rain falls,
as long as those ever-shining lights prevail,
we shall all recognise this cherished land,
may the melodies of the waves resonate with the ceaseless longing from the shore.
The Lighthouse stands sentinel by the Victoria Harbour, its radiant glow guiding people home from beyond the horizon.
On the shore, people at the telephone booth connect with the boundless ocean by listening to the impromptu music intricately woven by the waves.
---
The movement of the waves could also be listened to through live streaming.
